Travelling and camping are good ways of relaxing the mind. When camping or travelling you will be exposed to the outside world, something that is far from the comfort of your home. In order to enjoy some comfort travellers and campers make use of some outdoor shelters. There are many outdoor shelters available the most popular being tents and caravans. There are now other outdoor shelters that are gaining fast popularity in today’s world and these include the hammocks and umbrellas.
The most luxurious outdoor shelters are caravan trailers. Caravans are thought to have originated from ancient Rome. Caravans provide some very comfortable dwelling for travellers as they are equipped with living quarters, kitchens and bathrooms. Caravans can be made from materials such as fibre glass, hard plastic, wood and other light building materials. Today caravans are more popular as outdoor shelters that are used for leisure purposes.
The tent is another good outdoor shelter as it can be erected almost anywhere. Some tents are so big that they can be divided into compartments that will serve as different rooms. There are also the dome shaped tents that are very easy to setup and can easily fold into a bag which makes them more ideal to carry around. Tents can be made from material like canvas, polyester, nylon and other materials that are waterproof.
Hammocks are another range of outdoor shelters that are recently gaining popularity. Hammocks are so easy to carry around as they can easily be folded and put into a bag. When travelling, you can rest anywhere as long as you have a hammock and two supporting posts. So if you are camping, the trees around will do just fine. Because of their portability some hammocks are now being fitted with mosquito nets so if you are travelling all you will need is your hammock. So with a hammock you can carry your outside shelter in a satchel.
Another popular outdoor shelter that is mostly used for entertainment is an umbrella. Umbrellas that are used as outdoor shelters are quite big unlike the smaller handheld ones which are very popular amongst ladies. An umbrella is a dome shaped canopy that is crafted to protect against direct sunlight and rain. Umbrellas can be designed in such a way that they allow small amounts of light through and these are usually fitted onto patio tables and together they make good outdoor shelters.
