Pop Up Tents

Camping has been a popular hobby for many years and alongside taking the tent there is also quite a lot of equipment required for cooking etc. The size of traditional tents can put a lot of people off the idea of camping, they take up a lot of room in the car or van and are extremely heavy to carry to the chosen spot upon arrival. They all have poles that come in sections and these have to be sorted before the tent can even be erected. Once the framework is erected the canvas still has to be slipped over and then the whole assembly has to be staked down, one of our most recent and welcome innovations has to be the pop up tents.
These tents are designed to be stored in smaller cases and are usually a lot more lightweight than their older counterparts, they take seconds to erect themselves and generally speaking take a lot of the initial hassle out of any planned camping trips. There are basically two main sorts of pop up tent, the first is the umbrella tent and the second is the coiled tent.
The umbrella tent comprises of flexible ribs that are positioned inside the canvas, once released the ribs stretch out tightening the canvas into shape and the tent is ready for use, a simple push on the top of the tent is all that is required to release the ribs.
Coiled tents are much more compact and take up even less room than the umbrella tent in the car or van. These work by a carbon rod frame that is hinged and spring loaded, when ready for use a strap is pulled on the tent after it has been removed from the storage bag and the springs will instantaneously erect the tent, even quicker than an umbrella tent. Both of these varieties should still be staked down to prevent them from blowing over in windy conditions but as you can see from this article, erecting a tent could not be simpler.
This technology has not just been confined to tents, there are now available pop up canopies and gazebos for parties etc.
